Sightings at Mon Vert Cafe on a beautiful crisp Sunday morning in Woodstock…Woodstock Inn’s Werner Graef checking out the new hot spot in town with friends. “Is this Wireless Woodstock wi-fi or their own” (It’s their own)….Rachel Kahn reading The New York Times….Gareth Henderson (formerly Assistant Editor of the Vermont Standard — time to move on– and heading South to Florida) with wife artist Christine Orcutt.
Speaking of the Inn, look for more conference business upgrades to the Woodstock Inn footprint — “Break-Out” session rooms are needed these days to be a competitive full-service resort. Woodstock Village Trustees have also been told by their economic advisory board that the Woodstock Inn is reporting SUCCESS in the year since The SPA’s opening (and after several exhaustive re-do’s of the original building plans!) A surprise to Inn economists, but not to those of us who love a good “mani-pedi” (especially from long-time aesthetician Sue Cole) LOCALS have been frequenting The SPA in good number, contributing to its success.
For the time being, Graef cheerfully asks one thing of Early Bird: ‘Would you please order up more days like today?”
…One last note about “cafe society” we hope Wayne is feeling better today. Several concerned friends and neighbors, including our own Woodstock volunteer EMT responders, helped out on the scene.
