Lost Dog Returned to Tunbridge Family

A young female dog found roaming Maple Street and subsequently captured by Woodstock Police last week has been reunited with her Tunbridge family.

She is a petite shepard/border collie mix with very clean, white teeth wearing a worn pink collar. Although nervous, she showed no aggression, acting sweet and always wanting her belly rubbed. Although young, less than a year old, she was clearly used to living a “Princess” life curled up on a couch.

Today, as a result of a Craigslist listing “hook-up”, three young Tunbridge kids have their beloved “Blackie” back home. After a phone call from Early Bird answering a Craigslist description of a dog wearing a pink-collar lost on the Quechee golf course three weeks ago, her human Mom and Dad immediately piled the kids in the van to make the trip from their Tunbridge farm to Woodstock. The kids yelled “Blackie, Blackie” as they hugged their no-longer-lost seven-month-old puppy.

There’s a bit more to this story —  an apparent un-motivated abandonment by another family who temporarily had the pup  in Quechee — but we’ll leave it at this hopefully happy ending and future happy life for the little princess and her kids.

Julia reunites a pup and her family. A very good deed indeed.

“Blackie” is reported to be glad to be home and immediately went to visit her own dog Mom. Unfortunately, the situation is not as simple as it seems with some extenuating circumstances which are still to be resolved. I hope this dog gets to stay exactly where she is and that authorities will enforce the circumstance of her being home with her loving kids in Tunbridge as being best for the dog and all involved.
