Designing Selectboard: Cottage Red or Poinsetta for the ESB?

Hundreds of decisions are made every year by your Town Selectboard. Among them, the decision this evening to go RED for a new paint color for the Emergency Services Building in Woodstock. You might know it as the  Fire Station or Police Station. In any event, the Selectboard says go RED. More specifically our esteemed Chief of Emergency Services L.D. Sutherland, Jr. and Ambulance Director Pat Cassidy  plopped the paint chips on the table for a look-see. The attempt is to match the red of our Welcome Center.

The choices were perfect for our elected  “designing” men and women: “Cottage Red” or “Poinsettia”. You may have noticed some scraping and work going on at the “ESB” as you drive East out of the Village. Now, the building will  be RED. As Selectman Bristow succinctly put it, “I like red.”  Hope it’s not “Petal Pink” or “Ambrosia”.  Grettie Howe wanted something simple and to the point, “Why not “fire engine red?”. That was apparently not one of the paint manufacturers options. And “Brick Red”? Apparently that’s not available either.
