Town Planner Michael Brands reported to a meeting of the Woodstock Development Review Board last night that local developer Alfonse Sorrentino has written to the Town withdrawing a permit application request to demolish some buildings on property commonly known as “The Jungle” in the East End of Woodstock.
The permit request was actually made by the property owner William Alsup but Sorrentino was listed as a co-applicant since he has put money down as a contract to buy the property. Sorrentino lives in Woodstock Village. Alsup, after years of running a POMA ski lift distributorship in Woodstock, re-located to Colorado some 20 years ago.
The permit request was also on the Design Review Board’s agenda last week but nobody showed up to discuss it (the applicant was East End property owner William Alsup) so the DRB tabled the item, continuing it to its next meeting.
