If you’ve been thinking of giving your very own true blood to help those with medical needs, American Red Cross workers will be set-up at the Woodstock Elementary School Friday afternoon from 12:30pm to 5:30pm. They will be happy to help relieve you of just a bit of your life-giving fluids.
And in another area of good deeds and fluids, I see Harpoon Brewery is having its now annual Point to Point Bike Ride on August 13th to raise funds for the Vermont Foodbank. Hard-core and you know what you’re doing — go all the way from Williston to Windsor. That’s a long ride. Maybe Bethel to Windsor is best for the more moderate athletes (50 miles) or for the “Just wanna’ go for it” crowd, how about a 25 mile ride in the Windsor itself? Harpoon Brewery is based there and I’m sure a little cool beverage with an orange slice might be available should you decide to ride and help others as you do. Give Blood. Ride A Bike. Enjoy a Beer. Probably not in that order or all at once. Moderation mes enfants, moderation.
