Woodstock Early Bird would like to remind readers and those who wish to comment on blog notes that we will not publish comments unless the person posting has a verifiable first and last name. If you are commenting as a representative of an organization that information should be made known to Woodstock Early Bird readers.
Woodstock Early Bird puts out news and opinion under her own name and expects people to stand by their own opinions in an equal way. This comes up because the identify of recent commenters regarding the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce are relevant to the discussion. Early Bird has posted information that helps put their comments in context.
Regarding those who wish the Woodstock Early Bird blog to be a FREE public relations vehicle for “Happy News” press release journalism, those folks will have to go elsewhere (and there is an outlet in town that does a very good job!).
Woodstock Early Bird is happy to publicize news and events that make for a great community, but that does not mean Woodstock Early Bird is beholden to report the organization’s “message” as opposed to the truth about what is really going on.
While we are a great community with much to offer, we are also like any other community, not free from discord, not free from the issues and problems that affect any place else. Many people in Woodstock work daily to find resolution to problems by bringing issues to light and engaging in a discussion about them. Woodstock Early Bird is only meant to be a small contributing piece of the discussion. Nothing more. Nothing less.
