Did You Feel It?

That’s the question the U.S. Earthquake Information Center always asks. About earthquakes. I certainly didn’t feel it. The now upgraded 5.9 earthquake centered in Virginia.

Apparently some in Vermont, as far north as Burlington,  felt it. Any reports in Woodstock of Q-Tips falling off the vanity counter? (I mention this because a few years back  a friend of mine was experiencing an earthquake in Eastern Washington State while in the bathroom and reported that well, yes, there was damage — The Q-tips had fallen off the counter and were  all askew).

Funny, another Early Birder was talking just this morning about some movie full of gloom and doom, tsunamis, earthquakes, etc. and we poor humans were all living in pods. Hopefully the pods have wi-fi so we can still text and get information and such…

I spoke to a builder on the green who felt a tremble earlier today, but neither of us had heard of the earthquake when we spoke. I guess that explains it!

We are in Baltimore and were (underground) in the Convention Center. I felt a strong, prolonged tremor and I could actually feel a compression in my ears. Nothing I have ever experienced before. We decided we didn’t want to be underground and began to pack up to leave and they came on the P.A. telling us to leave immediately. They said that if your car was still on the floor to leave it and get right out. Don’t look for spouses or friends..GET OUT. Spooky. We hung outside for about an hour and finally they let us back in…
