Emergency Woodstock Selectboard Meeting

Sent to Woodstock Early Bird by Board Member Preston Bristow:

The Selectboard had an emergency meeting at 7 PM tonight (Monday) to give the town manager and highway crew direction. We now know that Woodstock has 20 closed roads and 3 lost
bridges. Getting the roads open should take 10 days to 2 weeks. One of the three lost bridges is non-essential, the other two are on Roberts Road and North Bridgewater Road. We’re considering all options for temporary passage on these roads. Fortunately, the sewer plant is operable. However, getting the aqueduct system flowing (which is a private company and not a town responsibility) involves making the well pumps operational and finding and repairing leaks in the lines. As one town official put it, fixing the aqueduct could take a day, a week, or a month; at this point we simply don’t know.

We Early Birds appreciate the “official” communique even if it’s not the news that we are getting our water back and all is well again. Still, thanks Pres! Keep us posted! WEB
