Thanks Jason: Noah Road Update and CVPS Comment

Woodstock Early Bird just receive this information on Noah Road from John Johnson and a response from Steve Costello at Central Vermont Public Service:

Thanks to Jason Holmes (who lives on Pope Road – an offshoot of Noah Wood Rd. ) – Noah Wood is now passable to Rt. 106 for those with 4-W drive vehicles. His generosity in using his excavators, tractors and other heavy equipment along with his crew, have made the road passable for 4-W drive vehicles only. More work is being done as we speak, to replace and repair culverts on both Pope and Noah Wood. This is just a stop gap and needs immediate attention going forward as there is no fill by which to repair the road and . There is still no power on the hill and no commitment by CVPS as to when repairs will be made or trucks will be dispatched. Generators are the only source of power for all families. Kudos to our neighbors who are all pitching in to help as there are several elderly families on the hill who are still extremely vulnerable.

Steve Costello of CVPS Writes:

Access is critical, but we’ll be getting everywhere we can as quickly as possible.
