Who cares about paper plates and plastic spoons at this point?
If you don’t mind a take-out situation you’ll find simple but good sandwiches and coffee (Sorry, no espresso folks!) at Mon Vert Cafe.
Mon Vert Cafe across from Lake Sunapee Bank on Central Street…has just started to get its water back..and is serving food and drinks.
Also…join one, join all for the Community Supper on the Village Green from 4pm to 6pm tonight (Thursday).Volunteers will be needed to help set it all up at 3pm at the Elementary School.

Julia…Your blog is wonderful and a great community service for Woodstock……It is good news that Mon Vert is open and folks should know that the Daily Grind and the Mountain Creamery are also open and all offer takeout. Let’s support all of our Woodstock businesses! thanks again for doing such a great service for our community
.Best regards, jeffrey Kahn

Hi Jeff, Thanks for checking in. I have specifically NOT been mentioned any restaurants open as State Health Inspectors can SHUT DOWN a restaurant if they are open and serving without drinking water or bathrooms. My post about Mon Vert Cafe was very specific — mentioning paper plates and plastic silverware — so as not to cause probems to folks who are even more important to us — keeping us fueled — during this difficult time.
That said, this is a personal blog and Laura and Cameron, who are new to town, need all the pats on the back we can give them. They were hauling water from the Woodstock Elementary School to make hot coffee when no one else was. This blog would absolutely NOT be possible were it not for Laura and Cameron’s cafe. While I support other restaurants — Mountain Creamery has the best omelettes in New England — Mon Vert Cafe is personally assisting this blogger in continuing her VOLUNTEER work writing this blog. Down the line, if businesses would like to support Woodstock Early Bird with advertising, we can work on that. For the moment, understand we were trying to deliberately “low-profile” the eateries that have quietly opened.
