A note for Woodstock Early Birds. If you are in the South Woodstock area and need water, South Woodstock’s Chip Kendall tells us can get drinking water and utility water at the South Woodstock Fire Station.
Also…We’re hungry, right? Running around trying to get things fixed. South Woodstock has water and power. The South Woodstock General Store is OPEN and they make a great sandwich and soups and it’s a great place to go for a break from your work. Church Hill is quite passable (very little indication of ANY damage). It’s a lovely drive which we took yesterday to do laundry (Thanks Wendy from KVI).
Speaking of the Kedron Valley Inn in South Woodstock: OPEN, folks, for FOOD and DRINK: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. (Porch dining is not available due to some structural issues being addressed). Yesterday carpenters were seen putting stabilizing boards on the porch and boosting its roof so reconstruction of the porch is well underway. Tavern Dining and Dining Room Dining.
Discover South Woodstock…There’s something to eat!

Chip has been a Godsend to our community. He stepped up to give us the big tanks of water at WES, thousands of gallons, (Bill Luthe supplied a 500 gallon tank of spring water as well, thank you as much). This is the water that we initially used for drinking after boiling, but on the less glamorous side, also enabled to flush our toilets. Thank You Chip for going beyond the call of duty, (no pun intended)!
