Woodstock Early Bird just picked this up from Nicole Bartner who commented on the plight being experienced by those at Riverside Park. She is overseas, and like many, would like to help, checking in to see what she can do from afar:
If anyone would like to offer assistance to Riverside but is unable to be there in person, you may donate to the Flood Relief Fund at Sustainable Woodstock and earmark your donation for Riverside. You can donate online by simply going to the Sustainable Woodstock website: http://www.sustainablewoodstock.org. (Donations are tax deductible.) Sustainable Woodstock informs me that they had been active at Riverside prior to the flood and so are very aware of the needs there now. Anyone at Riverside may apply for a grant from the Flood Relief Fund by visiting the Sustainable Woodstock website and filling out the online application form. It is short and easy, no big deal. They are very responsive. It is early days for their Flood Relief Fund, but they intend to offer short term emergency funding to people as well as longer term financial assistance
We’ve also heard a wonderful, small, but important, story of a caring Village Trustee and her family who privatly have helped a young woman who was about to go off for her freshman year at college but lost everything in the flooding. She now has — at the very least — some nice stuff for her dorm room. Thanks Guys!
