We’re In the River…Under the Iron Bridge Lookin’ For A Break

The Ottauquechee River level has gone down enough that construction equipment is now able to get under the Elm Street aka The Iron Bridge for excavation work.

The Town of Woodstock Sewer Department  is still looking for the other end of a sewer main break, a missing link to complete our very important chain of waste disposal.

What this also tells you is that we are not quite back to normal. Getting there, we are told by officials today,  but our Village sewer and drinking water systems are still compromised and we’re being asked to continue some degree of water conservation.

Two excavators are picking up huge piles of rocks and debris as part of the operation.
