Frolicksome Frosty Fall Wedding Night Ahead

ARCHIVE Photo of Will and India

Congratulations!

Woodstock Early Bird was heartened to see the extent of work, craftmanship and good ‘ole Yankee can-do that brought back the Elm Street Stamps property to elegant life this week. Re-seeding of lawns, the reconstruction of trellis’ and a beautifully gussied-up look along the prominent banks of the Ottauquechee River.

Just in time…for the “show-will-go-on”  wedding today of  Mr. and Mrs.  Will Stamps. (Will and India seen  here in an “archive” photo). We saw beautifully set tables and heard a lovely Classical quartet playing. We saw where the band will play on.

They weren’t the only ones embarking on hopeful lives of marital bliss. Why, Woodstock Early Bird witnessed a wedding in progress directly in front of the Woodstock Inn. Apparently the couple decided that come hell or high water (and it did!)) they would get themselves married at the Inn. Outside. Looking lovely. If cold. THAT wedding reception takes place at the Billings Farm and Museum, under tents, with heating lamps. Bring your woolies for a frolicksome, frosty, Fall wedding night ahead.  We hear it was 29 degrees up ta’ Barnard earlier this morning, a mere 38 degrees here in the warmer, lower elevations when WEB returned home late last night.  I can say that the cool temps are just in time for fall fashions — I have just done a “survey” and see plenty of fabulous vests, sweaters and coats available in our local Woodstock shops. We’re hoping our visitors have a need for a little something warmer. Cold weather can be good business!

Salut!
