Help Vermont Agriculture? Help A Farmer? Donate to A Farm-Specific Fund

A Woodstock Early Bird sent us some great links for those of you who want to directly channel your donation money to farmers who lost crops, animals, property in the Tropical Irene flooding.

Since many of their fall/harvest crops were destroyed, farmers don’t have anything to go to market and thus don’t have the  income they were depending on to get through the winter.

The State of Vermont Agency of Agriculture has partnered with the Community Foundation to set up a fund for ALL Vermont farmers 100% of monies raised will go to farmers:


Also…: “The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont is a nonprofit association of farmers, gardeners, and consumers working to promote an economically viable and ecologically sound Vermont food system for the benefit of current and future generations.
Founded in Putney, 1971. They’ve started a farmer emergency fund:
 
They were planning an online auction and have swapped it over to benefit farmers who need help after Irene:
