A Woodstock Early Bird passed this along. It’s an announcement sent out to some members of a Unitarian Church divinity group about a water “healing” event scheduled for Sunday afternoon. WEB
WHAT: The Spirit of Water – a community healing event
WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 2 , 1 – 6 pm,
WHERE: Woodstock History Center’s back lawn on the river, 26 Elm St.
WHO: FREE and open to the public
The Spirit of Water: A community healing event for our relationship to the brooks and rivers after the flooding. Inviting children, families, singles, those affected by the flood, volunteers, artists, musicians, poets, and healers of all kinds to the back lawn of the History Center by the river at 26 Elm St. on Sunday October 2nd beginning at 1 pm and going until dusk.
The History Center has the best public access to the river. A huge sand mandala will be created with public participation throughout the day and returned to the river at dusk. All are encouraged to bring your hearts, your hands, your voices, your stories, your words, your tears, your appreciation, mementoes, ideas, instruments, and creativity. There will be singing, chanting, drumming, poetry reading, free cookies and cider, free journals, making prayer flags, free 10-minute Reiki, whatever YOU bring, and lots more on-going. Come for a while and stay as long as you want. Bring a lawn chair and a trowel.
We are fortunate to be able to hold this event on the History Center’s back lawn, with the beauty of the river but also the marks of the water’s storm path. It is an astonishing place to view the storm impact on the land and a perfect place to bring the energy of healing –peace, beauty, community and renewal.
