The Rutland Herald has two front page stories this Friday morning about Woodstock’s recovery from Tropical Storm Irene:

Both stories were written by Yvonne Daley, longtime Vermont reporter, author and coordinator of the Green Mountain Writers Conference. Daley, who had “retired” from daily correspondent work for The Rutland Herald, and – of late – has been working as a writing professor at San Francisco State University, was asked to return to Vermont to help cover the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene flooding.
Daley has just published a book entitled “Octavia Boulevard” which addresses daily life and issues in a neighborhood she has come to know and love in San Francisco. The title is available from Northshire Books or may be ordered by your local bookseller. More info at www.octaviaboulevardbook.com
Watch this space because Daley, working with The Rutland Herald, also plans a book about the 2011 Vermont Flood and its effect on the land and the people who live here.
