Woodstock Firefighter’s Relief Association held its annual ball at the Woodstock Country Club last night with music provided by Joey Leone and Chop Shop.
We saw a fine array of good-looking and smiling firefighters in their best- dressed formal attire, probably glad to be free of the outdoor soot and muck they usually have to slog through. Warm and festive inside at the Ball unlike some cold winter night fire calls.
We’ll have more in the future, but suffice it to say the all-volunteer fire department is in need of recruits. Training is provided and anyone is eligible to sign up and give it a try. There are mandatory tests that firefighters eventually have to take, but Woodstock would love to welcome any, and all, folks who might be even a wee bit interested in serving the community. And that’s especially true for the young folks. The training you get as a firefighter might even turn into a well-paying career. Woodstock Early Bird was particularly impressed to see the young people who are part of Bridgewater Fire Department, looking pretty fine with their big smiles at last night’s ball:
Here we have Bridgewater Firefighters Zach Bowley, Josh Putnam and Jon Maxham with Codi Towne and Hillary Maddaus.
