Many of you know that Woodstock Early Bird has spent a fair amount of time behind the microphone with a pair of headsets over her ears…
So, when Officer Jen presented Woodstock Early Bird with a pair of jumper cables, you can imagine that we just thought they were some fancy, new kind of clip-0n headphones. Apparently not. Sparks emerging from the head during a self-imposed electrocution NOT a good idea. A great news story; NOT a good idea.
Officer Jen requested Woodstock Early Bird’s assistance yesterday in removing a certain chronic and repeat parking offender’s “dead” truck from a refined Village location. The owner of the vehicle had left the lights on when leaving on an extended business trip to London. The battery naturally died. The chronic and repeat parking offender is still “away” while the windshield of said truck has been accumulating thousands and thousands of dollars in parking violation tickets.
So. True to Officer Jen’s abilities at helping women learn to do stuff we “urban” chicks don’t normally do, this chick was instructed in the fine art of detecting the negative and positive ends of jumper cables and attaching them to the negative and positive parts of the battery.
Officer Jen safely ran the operation to re-start the chronic parking offender’s truck battery. Woodstock Early Bird was, indeed, a bit jumpy as the last time this operation was attempted solo by yours truly, the cables burned up and were left in smoking pile of toxic plastic. Which brings us to this announcement…
Officer Jen will be offering a “Car Care Class” for women on December 3rd– girls, chicks, ladies — all of them — to help show the tricks of the trade and instill confidence in those who are better at waiting hours for AAA than in actually fixing something themselves. We can do it! Here’s the deal, brought to you by a group known as IWOW or Independent Women of Woodstock:
Basic Car Care Clinic December 3rd:
IWOW is asking for $10 dues to cover insurance costs. If you are experiencing financial hardship please let us know.
Please register by sending an email with all contact information to jenhutchins01@gmail.com. If there is enough interest we can do a second session.
