The Woodstock Police report on its investigation into the fatal accident that killed well-known teacher and community activist Dr. Hasse Halley was to be forwarded to Windsor County State’s Attorney Robert Sand today.
Despite information provided to media earlier that the report was sent on to Sand’s office last week, Chief Robbie Blish told Trustees last night that the full report wasn’t going out until today.
Sand will review the case and eventually decide whether or not to bring charges against the driver of the truck that hit Halley.
It is unclear how long this process will take. According to Chief Blish, Sand did not want to make any decision on the matter until Woodstock finalized its report on the incident.
Halley lost her life while crossing Route 4 near the Rec Center Bridge on October 1st, 2011.
Woodstock Village Trustees are considering a request from Steve Halley for a maple tree to be planted on the Green in his wife, Hasse Halley’s, memory. The tree would also have a small plaque next to it. Trustees, in discussing the donation and any future donations, said they wanted the Town tree warden to be part of the process.
