Flood Freezer Burn?

It’s a bit awkward to really “dig down deep” into the freezer and find all that frozen halibut from 2005 that, honestly, isn’t going to get eaten — great memories of that Alaskan fishing trip and all, but, really, it has to go….The freezer burn is thicker than the fish itself. The awkward part is when it’s not yours and you’d really like your neighbor to take it way…

Which brings us to the Flood of 2011 when many were without power and all the frozen food in Vermont was in danger of going down with the floodwaters. Those who had generators or working freezers kindly offered their freezer space…and, now, Woodstock Early Bird has learned that a local business, the Prince and the Pauper, would appreciate your reclaiming your flood groceries from their freezer. We received this note from the P&P’s Chris Balcer:

We have a bag of groceries parked in our freezer, which someone brought
by after Irene. It consists of various packages of chicken and beef. I
can’t recall who brought it by for safe keeping. While it’s no problem
to keep it stashed here, I didn’t want the owner to forget about its
whereabouts.

Of course not.
