Police Report: Woodstock Resident Locked Up After Fighting Officers

Listed below are some lesser highlights from the Woodstock Police Department Twitter report updated as of November 20th, 2011.  But first….

Woodstock Early Bird has also learned that the WPD responded to assist Vermont State Police early Sunday morning with a car chase in Bridgewater that eventually led to the suspect’s suicide on Larry Curtis Road in  Woodstock. We have already posted the Vermont State Police press release describing the incident.

In addition, Woodstock Police Officers Jim  Otranto and Peter Mantello responded to a domestic violence call over the weekend that led to a  domestic assault charge for Woodstock resident Joseph Palmer, 40.

According to Woodstock Police Chief Robbie Blish, the suspect had been drinking  and fought  with responding police officers. He was lodged (as they say, which means locked up)  in Woodstock. Blish says that no one was hurt during the arrest.

Here is the rest of last week’s significant police work:

(We leave out the dog that WPD continued to find  off-leash without its owner and hope that a series of tickets will help the owner to keep  better tabs on its pet. It’s only a matter of time before this canine ends up under a truck tire and that, Woodstock Early Bird can tell you — from experience — is  heart-breaking for all involved.)
