Thanksgiving Snow

Good Sloppy Snow Morning Woodstock Early Birds! (With All Due Respect to the TURKEYS!),

Snowy morning in Woodstock. No official word or  police reports but our own Early Birds tipsters are reporting some power outages in Woodstock and Hartland. One Early Bird says power in Quechee is a-okay.

Gareth Henderson spoke to Central Vermont Power at about 9:15 a.m.:

Christine Rivers of Central Vermont Public Service reported that a transmission outage knocked out power outages in Woodstock around 7 a.m., but most of those were quickly restored. At the peak of the storm (around 7:30 a.m.) there were 12,000 CVPS customers with no power – including about 500 outages in the Woodstock and Royalton areas, according to Rivers. At 9:17 a.m., CVPS reported that 4,900 customers remained without power, mostly in Windsor and Windham Counties.

At the time of One Early Bird’s report, a section of Interstate 89 South was closed due to an 18-wheeler truck off the road and demolished just south of the West Lebanon exit due to snowy/icy roads. (The report was 10-ish).  Proceed with Caution.

BTW, in case no one has told you, individual property owners are responsible for clearing the snow/shoveling the snow from sidewalks in front of their home. Village Trustees will take up the issue at their next scheduled meeting.
