Windsor County State’s Attorney Robert Sand has reported to Woodstock Early Bird that his office set Monday, November 28th as the deadline for review of the completed investigation into the October 1st death of Hasse Halley as a result of a single vehicle accident on Woodstock’s Rec Center Bridge. Halley was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by the vehicle in the road just outside her home.
Contacted today, Woodstock Police Chief Robbie Blish said he was holding back on issuing any press release about whether charges would be or would not be brought against the driver of the vehicle that hit Halley until he had ” a package” of materials to release. He did not say if this is the full investigation report or simply the findings of the Windsor County State’s Attorney’s Office. Woodstock Early Bird will issue the findings as soon as they are released. Whatever the findings are, we understand this has been a tragedy for the community and all involved. In the meantime, here is some other news:

OK, I clean my sidewalk and put the snow on my lawn and the town plow comes through and puts road snow on the walk. Where does it go? Where do I put it? Oh, not just snow but sand and salt.

So, I expect that you will be attending the December 13th Village Trustees meeting along with many other neighbors to ask these important questions and perhaps find a solution? Let us know how it goes. It’s interesting that you then get fined if you shovel your walk/sidewalk/driveway to clear it of snow and then get fined if it’s in the street….Very confusing.
