Woodstock Early Bird is wondering if we have more dogs and their owners actually using our lovely doggy pick-up bags or whether the Village of Woodstock just dang ran out of the important public sanitation items?
Our Early Bird tipsters have noticed no bags in Village dispensers for about two weeks — Usual spots include the “Welcome Center”, Village Green, and across from the Woodstock Inn Administration parking lot. With an influx of visitors coming to town for our annual Wassail Weekend, many of whom bring their critters (please, please keep them on leash and away from the horseys!), perhaps we might ask for a big ‘ole refill of the poo bag dispensers so we can keep our lovely little Village neat and clean.
Insult to injury for locals and visitors is an unwanted parking ticket combined with a dog-feces smelly boot. Not to put too fine a point on it. But. Villagers approved the funding for these baggies so let’s get ’em out there and on the streets!
WEB notes that WE dog owners then need to be exceedingly responsible and PICK-UP even if it’s cold. No excuses for piles if there’s a baggie and a trash bin located next to eachother. The dog pick-up bags help everyone to be responsible. Villagers who are used to picking up using these baggies and then find none can’t be blamed if Fido has to go and we are out “un-equipped.”
Look forward to hearing from Tipsters that the bags are plentifully re-stocked soon!
