The Taftsville Bridge Deconstruction

The Deconstruction of the Taftsville Bridge is almost half way done. The historic landmark will be rebuilt but is not expected to reopen for travel across the Ottauquechee River until 2013.

As a protective measure following damage sustained during Tropical Storm Irene flooding, the bridge is being completely dismantled before winter ice and winds and spring floods knock it around any further.

    Is this photo reversed? I am guessing that roof in the foreground is the power station but it makes no sense unless photo is reversed…

      I see what you mean. I checked it out with the photographer and she says that’s the way it is that she did not flip the photo: Route 4 heading West to Woodstock with the Bridge going off to the right with the waterfall under the bridge going downstream to Quechee. WEB
