Hank Smith’s Horse Barn Saved from Fire

Woodstock Fire Chief L.D. Sutherland, Jr. reports from the scene that a major barn fire has been contained. It broke out in  Hank Smith’s body shop within a  horse barn just over the Bridgewater line on Cox District Road.

Sutherland says Woodstock and many other responding fire departments were able to contain the blaze  in large part due to proper and good construction which kept the fire to the one area in the body shop. Thoughtful building, “doing it right” combined with the fire department  response helped save a barn worth about 1.5 million dollars.

The call went out just a few hours ago.
