Village Trustees Meeting Tonight 7pm: Snow Shoveling on Agenda

If you have any interest either  in supporting or voicing opposition to the current snow shovelling ordinances in the Village, tonight’s Village Trustees meeting is the place to express it.

Woodstock Early Bird received this “memo” from Village Trustee Bob Pear concerning tonight’s meeting:

It might be of particular interest to you that we will be discussing shoveling of Village sidewalks, i.e., the ordinance that requires property owners to clear the sidewalks that abut their property of snow and ice.

At the November meeting, the Trustees agreed that if the public did not show up at the next meeting, it would indicate there was a lack of interest in pursuing this discussion and that would effectively end the discussion.

(Woodstock Early Bird was at that meeting and covered it, hearing from just a handful of people who felt the ordinance was unfair to them. Trustees said they needed to hear from others, rather than just a couple people (including Early Bird herself) if they were to consider changes).

Also from Pear:

If you have an interest in this topic, whether you would like the present system to remain, municipal takeover be the responsibility, or anywhere in between, please come to the meeting. Your input is important and you do not have to be a Village voter to be heard. For example, if you live in Timbuktoo, and you walk on our sidewalks and have concerns with the clearing of the sidewalks in the winter, ice, safety, etc., your input is valid and will be heard.
