South Woodstock Hike Today

Despite the cold temperatures, the hardy South Woodstock Hiking Club continues its Sunday dog-friendly and friendly dogs and people outings. Here is today’s “plan”:

This week’s hike will be lead by Carey and Kent Underwood. Dunham Road is the main road to the east about halfway between Woodstock and South Woodstock off Rt 106. Here’s Carey’s description:

Sunday 1 pm

Start from 1075 Dunham Hill Rd which is 1 mile up from 106 on the left. Pull up the drive and we’ll help figure out parking. The hike will be a 1.5-2 hour loop. We’ll start by going the top of Dunham Hill and then head into the woods at the top working our way over to Richardson’s farm where we’ll get a great view (good picture spot!) From there we’ll start to work our way back down the hill where we’ll pop out on The Lane which is very close to our house. We’ll mostly be on trail. Depending on weather between now and then, you’ll probably want snowshoes, boots, or micro-spikes.
