Update from Woodstock Early Bird and Bassett Neighbor, Grettie Howe, who was at the scene of the fire:
It was a long night and lots of depts. responded..It seemed to have started at the back of the house. The Barn and Animals were unharmed but their house, sad to say is a total loss it looks like. People are wondering how they can help??? The Red Cross was right there , the family spent what was left of the night at the Shire, now are getting clothes etc. to tide them over….Kudo’s to the Fire Depts. for doing a great job.
The Associated Press has reported the destruction of the old Bassett Dairy Farm on Rt. 12 in Woodstock. Eight departments are reported to have responded to the fire.
Woodstock Early Bird will provide more details about the fire as we get them.
