Vermont State Police are looking for help from the public in locating a person reported to have broken into a Hartland home yesterday:

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 2-16-12 at 1600 hours, Troopers responded to a residence on VT Route 12 in Hartland for a report of an attempted Burglary. Troopers observed that one of the doors to the residence was forced in breaking the door jamb. There were 2 people home at the time along with a dog.
The suspect heard the dog and retreated back to his vehicle which was parked in the driveway. The residents observed the subject who was described as a white male approximately 40 years of age with facial hair. They further advised that he had a grey in color pea coat and that he was balding on the top of his head and that he was approximately 5’8″ tall.
The residents also advised that the subject left in a dark colored vehicle with MA. tags and possibly a Mercedes emblem on the front hood. Anyone with information on this vehicle is encouraged to contact the State Police at 234-9933
