Update: Despite the weather, some vendors prefer to start the “market” at 10:00 and end at 1:0o pm. Organizers have re-scheduled their re-scheduling.
Anne Dean, Marketing Manager for the Winter Farmers’ Market, is hoping that if the forecast inclement weather isn’t too, too bad that Woodstock Early Birds will come out (a bit later) to support some very small business people tomorrow who will gather at the Woodstock Masonic Temple to sell their wares. The time has been changed to open one hour later. The new time is 11am-2pm.
Dean writes:
Many of the vendors were affected by Irene and are really struggling to get by this winter. There are crafts people as well who eek out a living doing their craft and this time of year is also a struggle for them. There are many items for sale that would make perfect gifts for baby showers, birthdays, weddings, graduations, anniversaries and more.
Many people in our town talk about wanting to be sustainable and this is what sustainability is all about, supporting your local businesses. These people have the smallest of businesses and therefore are the most vulnerable.
Some of the items you’ll find: Produce, prepared foods, eggs, meat products, breads, preserves, baked goods, jewelry, clothing and accessories, rugs, angora fiber, wool products, cards, prints.
