Woodstock Teen A Runaway

Woodstock Police have placed posters around the Village noting a “Missing” 16-year-old from our community: Ilena Potter. We will get the poster up as soon as possible.

Police have also issued an official bulletin among law enforcement to be on the look-out for the missing teen

Woodstock Early Bird has been in touch with Ilena’s Mom, Kristie Potter, who tells us her daughter Ilena ran away as a result of a variety of issues. She was NOT kidnapped from our community. However, she is concerned for her daughter’s well-being since she has no idea where Ilena is. Kristie, as any parent would be, is worried about what might happen to her daughter, a young 16-year-old woman out there somewhere on her own.

According to her Mom, Ilena has posted on Facebook so she is known to be “out there” and alive.

In the past Ilena has expressed an interest in going to live with family down South. It is not known if that was her intended destination or if she is simply “holed up” with friends in the Woodstock area.

It is believed that some teens may feel the need to protect Ilena’s whereabouts from her Mom due to unresolved issues at home. They, or anyone, should be discouraged from withholding information that might be helpful in re-locating Ilena Potter safely.
