Maybe the kid will get smart about driving while texting (or cell talking). Lucky he’ alive. It will take many years, but someday. . . someday there will be universal ( i.e., federal) laws against any kind of electronic doodling while driving. It took decades for us to get smart about cigarettes, and this, too, will take years. When some congressman’s daughter gets killed by a driver who was texting, maybe then, finally, there will be some serious attention paid to this idiotic and dangerous habit. About every third time I drive on route 4 to or from WLeb or Hanover I get behind a car that is weaving over the line. As often as not, the driver is on a cell phone.
