Covered Bridges Half Marathon Tomorrow!

The Village of Woodstock is abuzz with people from all over excited to be here for the running of the Annual Covered Bridges Half-Marathon tomorrow. The check-in location is in front of the Norman Williams Public Library.

We sadly note the “passing” of the finish Quechee Covered Bridge which was heavily damaged during Tropical Storm Irene last August.

Note: Actual race check in and bib pick up is at Suicide Six. This race is full up with runners and closed! No new runners will be considered on race day!

The race begins early Sunday morning in the area of Suicide Six, with the majority of runners passing through central Woodstock Village between 8:30 and 9:30am. Route 4 through Woodstock will be OPEN but expect delays near the race end in Quechee. If you own any sort of business be prepared for coffee and breakfast and lunch seekers EARLY in the day.

There were a few confusing signs such as one seen on Route 106 yesterday that warned of the road race being “Next Sunday.” Think again. It’s tomorrow!

Since it has been POURING all day, course and race conditions are probably on everyone’s mind…looks like things may taper off a bit for race day.

Here is the latest weather forecast from the National Weather Service in Burlington for Woodstock as of 545pm Saturday:
