Woodstock Digital Media Festival This Weekend

Woodstock Early Bird, as an online news blogger, gets all fluffed up and twitchy when the digital glitterati come to town. And they will be arriving soon…The 2012 Woodstock Digital Media Festival starts up Friday afternoon and runs through Sunday (June 22nd-June 24th)  morning. If you have the time and inclination make sure you get yourself a ticket for all the events.It’s the second year of the festival, providing a forum for digital media artists, journalists, gamers, entrepreneurs and academics with an opportunity to present their work and interact with their peers and the general public. It also includes a fun talk/party on Saturday night at the Billings Farm.

We also hear that Rep. Peter Welch will be attending the Woodstock Digital Media Festival as part of an Investor Showcase coordinated by Green Mountain Digital’s David McGowan and the Vermont Office of Creative Economy.

Here is a very bare bones schedule of events. (Highlights include a digital bird walk on Saturday morning with Kent McFarland, a talk with MOMA’s curator of the Visual Media Center as well as a talk with the creator of Cowbird, an online storytelling platform.  There will also be a “serious game” event with reps from Dartmouth’s game research lab.):
