SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 08/2/12, at 1620 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks and Rutland City Fire were dispatched to a two vehicle crash on US Route 4 in Mendon. Investigation revealed that Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound on US Route 4 in Mendon. As Vehicle 1 approached Trail View Drive, the operator of Vehicle 1, slowed down and attempted to make a right hand turn. Vehicle 2 was also traveling westbound on US Route 4. As Vehicle 2 approached Vehicle 1, the operator of Vehicle 2 did not observe Vehicle 1 attempting to make a right hand turn. The front of Vehicle 2 crashed into the rear passenger side of Vehicle 1. The operators were not hurt during the crash.
