SUMMARY OF CRASH: Gallo was travelling west on Woodstock Road and was stopped in traffic when he was struck from behind by Starrett. Gallo’s vehicle suffered major rear end damage while Starrett’s vehicle suffered minor front end damage. As a result, Starrett put his vehicle in reverse to back away from the vehicle he just struck.  Gallo allegedly thought that Starrett was attempting to flee the scene and proceeded to get out of his vehicle and pull Starrett from his vehicle and a fight ensued.

Starrett’s vehicle had been left in reverse gear and began moving around the crash scene and then into the ditch at the entrance to Quechee Pizza Chef.  Starrett ran after his vehicle and attempted to get into the vehicle to stop it when he allegedly slipped and fell.  As a result of him falling, his truck ran over him with the driver front tire coming to rest on top of his chest.

Witnesses were able to lift the vehicle off of Starrett’s chest prior to emergency services response.  The incident is under investigation.

COURT ACTION: Pending investigation
