On our early morning rounds today, we detected the Sand family loading up the car for Anna’s trip to college.
She is a 2012 graduate of Woodstock Union High School. While everyone looked pretty calm and cheerful we did hear Dad helpfully (or nervously?) suggest, “Do you need a checklist…?”
We also heard about Graham’s first day at Kindergarten yesterday. He wasn’t saying much while in line at Mac’s except he did bring a packed lunch rather than buying lunch in the cafeteria and he hadn’t decided what was best about it.
His Mom, Peggy, did note (we think a bit wistfully?) that he didn’t look back once he got on the school bus!
We also chatted briefly with another Mom, Christine, who has quite a few boys back in school. “How did the first day go,” we asked?
Christine replied quite simply and cheerfully, “They are BACK at school — That’s the point of the first day of school!”
We wish everyone well as they send off their kids off to kindergarten or to college or the various points in between!
