SUMMARY OF CRASH:

State Police responded to a report of a two car crash on US4 in Bridgewater at the junction of VT100A.

V2 Graves, was stopped on US4 westbound, waiting to make a left hand turn. V1 was heading westbound as well, but failed to see that V2 was stopped.

V1 collided with the rear end of V2. The impact caused the fuel tanks on both vehicles to rupture.

V2 caught on fire but the operator of V1 was able to put out the fire with a small fire extinguisher.

Bridgewater Fire
Department responded for the resulting diesel fuel spill.

Approximately 100
gallons were spilled at the scene.

The State Hazmat team responded and was able to clean up the spill. Traffic was limited to one lane while the crash scene was cleaned up.

The occupants from V2 were transported for very minor injuries, and
released from Rutland Regional.

The operator of V1 was issued a traffic ticket for causing the crash.
