Record Turn-Out for Zack’s Place Turkey Trot

A sunny morning with half the town — or more — turning out for a healthy event. The population of Woodstock Village is approximately 800; Woodstock Town approximately 3,000.

Officially, at race time,  approximately 1,400 fun-runners (and even the more serious)  registered for this morning’s Zack’s Place Turkey Trot.

Unofficially, but from a reputable source. we hear some 1,500 people took part in the annual run, trot and walk. It has turned into a fun Thanksgiving morning event for the whole community — locals and visitors alike —  also meant to support the work at Zack’s Place Enrichment Center.  We noticed all hands on deck with Woodstock Police, EMS and volunteers making sure all participants got the support needed.

A few scenes for you (P.S. Yes, you might have seen Woodstock Early Bird trot-walk-trotting to enjoy the essence of the morning but spurred on all the while concerned that the two dogs watching the turkey may have taken matters into their own mouths…Luckily, not.)
