Woodstock Early Bird reported last week on the details of Woodstock businessman Paul Hendler’s plea agreement with the federal government on certain felony charges involving mail fraud and money laundering. In the U.S. District Court plea deal documents we found that Hendler would plead guilty to two of 14 charges, with the other 12 being dropped.
Now, we note that a “Change of Plea” hearing will be held before Judge J Garvan Murtha in U.S. District Court in Brattleboro on Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at 11am.
While the Rutland Herald reports today that Mr. Hendler is to receive a three month suspended sentence for crimes involving the no-longer-existing JavaPop, Inc., we should clarify that a sentencing hearing has not yet been held.
One of the *possible* sentences, including prison time, might also include or be three years probation.

Unfortunately there are a few mistakes in your article regarding Paul Hendler. First off , Java Pop is still in existence under the name of Java Brands. The date given is purely for admit his guilt to two of the charges. At the time of sentencing, all parties involved in the 17 counts will have the opportunity to speak before the judge.
Having originally pressed the charges against Hendler, I have no intentions of removing our company from the final disposition of this case. Had the Woodstock police dept. done it’s job on the first time the complaint was made, fewer people wouldn’t had to suffer.
