SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On May 3, 2013 at approximately 1806 Vermont State Police received a call of a single car motor vehicle crash on Davis Road in the Town of Randolph.
Additionally the caller advised that the female occupant was not responsive.
The vehicle was located off the north side of the road approximately eight tenths of a mile south of the intersection of South Randolph Road.
Based on the initial investigation it was determined that Carol Rittenhouse had been traveling north west on Davis Road when she lost control of her vehicle
exiting the travel portion of the road and collided with a tree.
As a result of the crash Rittenhouse, who was not wearing her seatbelt, sustained an unknown fatal injury.
While this crash remains under investigation it appears that speed was a contributing factor. Anyone having information about this crash are asked to
contact Trooper Pregent at the Royalton State Police Barracks. Phone number (802)234-9933 or send an email to joseph.pregent@state.vt.us.
