Police Chief Blish: We Are In Recovery Mode!

Good Morning Early Birds,

And a TGIF to you! Police Chief Blish says we are now in a recovery or “demobilization” mode! Love the use of “demob.” So official! He also advises that we remember what we learned in kindergarten,  “Look both ways before you cross the street.”  That, in regard to increased vigiliance needed as trucks go through town to repair our crippled infrastructure.

The Flood RECOVERY Town of Woodstock morning meeting will be held this morning  at 8:30am at the Town Hall. Always of interest and open to the public. You can watch it later today on Channel 8 or at www.wctv8.com.

You have today (Friday)  and tomorrow (Saturday) to get your HAZMAT debris (at no charge) to Hartford Transfer Station (It’s on Route 5 just south of the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in White River Junction). Hopefully there will be more opportunities in the coming weeks to get rid of this stuff.

Everyone is invited to the free Sunday morning Early Bird Breakfast (7am!)  put on by Emergency Services at the Masonic Temple as a  remembrance for those lost on September 11, 2001. More on this in another post. It will be followed by a quiet walk to the Village Green where you can gather for an 8:45 moment of silence. Sunday, September 11th, 2011.
