We’re First! Rt. 4 Rumbles and Line Stripes Project Prep Begin Sept. 3rd

Woodstock Emergency Services Chief L.D. Sutherland, Jr. has followed up with the State of Vermont to find out when construction activities will begin — as promised — to assist with safety features along Route 4 between Hartford and Woodstock (hopefully to Bridgewater, too).  This is text of the email he got back from Ken Robie yesterday (Monday, August 26th):

Hi Butch,
I spoke with Ted Domey in our Operations Division, who has been the lead in getting a contractor on board for this work. He says the contractor, Wilk Paving, is currently doing prep work (guardrail, etc) and is scheduled to begin cold planning and paving on Sept. 3rd. That work will likely take about two weeks. The rumbles and line striping will follow, though the actual date for installation has not been set.

US 2 up in the islands likely won’t see any rumbles until next spring, so US 4 will get them first.
