Massachusetts closing roads to traffic at 4:00 p.m. today
Vermont roads open
WATERBURY, VT – Due to the snowstorm, the state of Massachusetts will limit traffic on all roads in the Commonwealth at 4:00 p.m. today, Friday, February 8, 2013. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick issued an executive order today that listed a number of exceptions including:
Public safety vehicles
Public works vehicles
Utility company vehicles
Healthcare workers who must travel to and from work
Vehicles to maintain and deliver critical private sector services such as fuel supplies and the like
Other emergency purposes as appropriate
There are currently no reports of closed roads in Vermont and state and local road crews in Vermont are out plowing and will continue to clear roadways throughout the night. Those on Vermont roads are encouraged to drive appropriately for the conditions and slow down.
A handful of accidents have been reported in Vermont today, but few other problems have been identified due to the snow.
