SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On February 16, 2013 at approximately 8:22AM the Vermont State Police in Royalton were advised of an untimely death by White River Valley Ambulance. The ambulance service received a call of an unresponsive female in Stockbridge, Vermont. The female, later identified as Jenna Stone, age 22 of California, Maryland, was pronounced deceased after members of the White River Valley Ambulance responded, and the victim was unable to be resuscitated.
Investigation revealed that Stone and some friends had rented a cabin for the President’s Day weekend in the Town of Stockbridge. While at the cabin Stone was witnessed consuming large amounts alcohol. When friends tried to wake her in the morning they found her to be unresponsive and immediately dialed 911.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Windsor State’s Attorney’s were contacted; and a post mortem examination and toxicology were ordered.
Preliminary investigation indicated there was no signs of trauma. There was no evidence of drug use or suspicious activity. No foul play is suspected at this time.
No further information is available at this time; pending the autopsy, toxicology, and completion of the investigation.
The Maryland State Police assisted in making notification to Stone’s family.
